Making Old Fashioned Cocktails With Tea at Home
INGREDIENTS (Serves 2)
2-3 Heaped teaspoons of loose leaf black tea or 2 tea bags
2 Shots (4 fl oz) of Bourbon
4 Teaspoons of simple syrup - to taste
2-4 Dashes of Angostura bitters
Orange slices and maraschino cherries
METHOD
To brew the tea, use 1.5 cups of freshly boiled water 100*C/212*F and allow the tea to steep for 3-5 minutes before straining out the leaves. Pour the tea into an ice cube mold and freeze for at least 4 hours.
Once your tea is frozen and ready to use, mix together the bourbon, simple syrup and Angostura bitters.
Pour the mixture over the frozen tea ice cubes into a glass.
Add slices of orange and maraschino cherries and enjoy :)
