Making Old Fashioned Cocktails With Tea at Home

INGREDIENTS (Serves 2)

  • 2-3 Heaped teaspoons of loose leaf black tea or 2 tea bags

  • 2 Shots (4 fl oz) of Bourbon

  • 4 Teaspoons of simple syrup - to taste

  • 2-4 Dashes of Angostura bitters

  • Orange slices and maraschino cherries

METHOD

  • To brew the tea, use 1.5 cups of freshly boiled water 100*C/212*F and allow the tea to steep for 3-5 minutes before straining out the leaves. Pour the tea into an ice cube mold and freeze for at least 4 hours.

  • Once your tea is frozen and ready to use, mix together the bourbon, simple syrup and Angostura bitters.

  • Pour the mixture over the frozen tea ice cubes into a glass.

  • Add slices of orange and maraschino cherries and enjoy :)
