Is a Tequila Slammer an Easy Cocktail to Make?

A tequila slammer is a really easy cocktail. A tequila slammer is one part tequila and one part soda. The name tequila slammer comes from the action of taking the shot. You mix together the tequila with the soda by slamming it down to activate the fizziness and then down it.

Making a tea-quila slammer is made with the same principal, one part tequila and one part sparkling tea.

How do you Make Sparkling Cold Brew Tea?

Did you know that you can cold brew tea in sparking water? Yep, and it’s super easy to do. All you need to do is take 1 tea bag or 1 teaspoon of loose leaf tea per 1 cup (8fl oz) of sparkling water and pop in the fridge for a few hours or over night. Add a dash of simple syrup or agave for a touch of sweetness and that’s it.

Here’s how to Make my Tequila Slammer With Tea

INGREDIENTS (Serves 8)

  • 1 Tea Bag Infused in 1 Cup of Sparkling Water (or 1 Cup of Store Bought Sparkling Tea)

  • 8fl oz of Tequila

  • Simple Syrup/Agave - To Taste

METHOD

  • Firstly, cold brew the tea by placing one tea bag per 1 cup (8fl oz) of sparkling water. I like to pour the sparkling water in recycled GT’s (kombucha) bottles as they hold in the fizz quite well. These bottles hold 2 cups of water and so I fill almost to the top and add 2 tea bags.

  • Add the simple syrup or agave to the sparkling water, screw the cap on tightly and shake up the bottle a little to mix the ingredients together.

  • Place in the fridge for at least 4 hours, overnight is best to infuse all of those lovely tea flavors.

  • Once your tea is infused, add 1fl oz of tequila and 1fl oz of sparkling tea in a glass or cup. Slam it and then down it :)
