Making a Detoxifying Black Tea and Clay Mask at Home

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 Tablespoons of Indian Healing Clay

  • 1 Tablespoon of Black Tea

  • 1 Tablespoon of Water

  • 1 Tablespoon of Apple Cider Vinegar

  • 3 Drops of Tea Tree Oil
    METHOD

  • Firstly, using a pestle and mortar, if you have one, roughly grind up the black tea to create a larger surface area for infusing and releasing the goodness of the tea.

  • Next brew the tea in 1 tablespoon of freshly boiled water and let sit for 5-10 minutes, until the tea has cooled, do not remove the leaves. It is a good idea to keep the tea covered while steeping to lock in those all important oils.

  • In a non-metallic mixing bowl, add all of the ingredients and mix well. It’s important to use a non-metallic bowl and spoon as the clay can react negatively with certain metals.

  • Keep mixing for a few moments to reach a mud like consistency that’s easily spreadable onto your freshly clean skin with either a spatula or your fingers.

  • Put your feet up and enjoy your mask for 5-20 minutes before removing and then rinsing with warm water.

Note: Enoy the mask once or twice a week for super fresh clean skin. If you are new to this mask, I would recommend a patch test on your arm first and then start off at 5 minutes and working your way up to the full 20 minutes in case irritation occurs. Some skin may flush and become red afterwards (mine does and it disappears after ten minutes to reveal glowing skin)
